Why am I a journalist?
I believe investigative journalism is more than just reporting—it’s about making sense of chaos and holding power accountable. Whether uncovering financial flows behind Russia’s arms industry, measuring deforestation from space, exposing human trafficking gangs, or holding governments to account, my goal is to bring truth to light.
What kind of investigations do I work on?
- Data-driven investigations: I combine traditional journalism with OSINT techniques, data analysis, python resources, corporate research, and financial tracking tools to uncover hidden networks, whether that’s machinery smuggling networks, fronts for drug trafficking or mapping Russian influence networks.
- Cross-border collaborations: I work with investigative teams across Europe to tackle complex international stories. I have been the recipient of several prestigious international grants and worked with journalists from across the world.
- Russia focus: I am predominantly a Russia specialist, leveraging Russia-specific data tools, leaked documents and other resources to create stories relating to Russia’s continued aggression in Ukraine and elsewhere
- Environmental journalism: I am now branching into environmental investigations, looking particularly at the effect of intensive farming on deforestation in Asia.
